Just came across this which might amuse some readers:
ZIMZUM (Hebrew, ‘withdrawal’). The process in Lurianic Kabbalah whereby En sof (Hebrew, ‘without end’ = the inaccessible and unknowable essence of god) shrank into itself at the beginning of the creative process in order to make room for the cosmos.
It’s great the way the divine just steps aside to make room….
