Here’s a great interview with Harman over at faslyncyc. In my view, Graham is the great philosopher of lassen sein, letting be, or what he calls “sincerity”. This is, for me, the essence of his ontology and his practice. It is an ontology in resolute refusal of both judgment and commodification; the anti-commidificationist/fetishist philosophy par excellance. To preserve the singularity, the dignity of things and persons, is the core of Harman’s thought. A beautiful vibration. This interview is a testament to that.

Does Harman admit that we are somehow the objects [sic]? Given his claim to treat objects as independent, if you wish, of us [e.g. us as consciousnesses], objects [not to undermine or overmine].
Whereas if for Heidegger we are metaphysics, if Harman understands himself as doing metaphysics, then does he reject the claim that we are metaphysics?
Does Harman say we are somehow the objects inasmuch as we are not egos?

Hi Elizabeth,
For Harman we are objects among other objects. A subject is just one type of object, with its own distinct characteristics, among others.
