Initially, I didn’t watch the cartoon attached to K-Punk’s post, but now that I have, this is the perfect exemplar of the Minotaur. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard dialogues exactly like this.
Note, the issue here isn’t simply about reading texts in their original language. In this case, the figure of the minotaur is embodied in having to read everything about a particular thinker (and in the hermeneutic inflection, reading the entire history of philosophy) to say anything at all. The minotaur constructs her labyrinth as a mobius strip or as a klein bottle… That is, as an infinite surface from which there is no exit.
