Sorry, my New York cynic’s about to show, but both talks seemed like pitches at a donor cultivation event for the Museum of Games. That’s next, isn’t it?
How much more fun/informative it would have been to lose the big screen (the visuals added little in my opinion) and talk around the picnic table in the first instance and the campfire in the second.
The most important thing I heard was that bit about Brathwaite’s daughter’s school teaching the middle passage like “black people on a cruise ship.” How will all that slavery toothpaste be gamed back into the tube? Milton Bradley–the man, not the corporate person–would have been most interested in that aspect too, I think.
